Centrifugal force- can be your friend and your foe. Learn how to use it to make you swing the club freer and faster and also how to work centripetal force into your swing for power and for better control
To create speed in the swing the arms should move fast. To create control in the swing the body should try and move faster than the arms to the finish of the swing. Here's a video explaining how to do it and why it works
Having a golf ball sitting still in front of you encourages the golfer to try and do more- create more speed- sooner than they think. Here is a video of one of my pros I work with working on the same things I encourage my students to work on- Drill 3 post impact.
Power and Control comes from making the club accelerate well into the through swing and by keeping the body moving faster than the club and hands- so the club never catches up to the left shoulder until right near the end of follow through.
Pinning the shaft on a true plane through impact and beyond results is firmer unchanged wrist conditions, a nicer neutral clubface and it shows a nice unison of release and body moving together.
There is a huge difference between accelerating the club and velocitizing the club during the swing. One means perpetual motion and increasing force. One means force that generally reaches a crescendo and then slows down.
