I have always talked about the similarity of baseball and golf motions. The only difference is the ball sits or is thrown in a different area relative to the ground level.
Many people talk about Mac Ogrady in awe with regards to his swing and teaching philosophy. It is really no different to what I teach. This video shows him talking about what equates to drill 1- 2 and 3.
In this video I show on my Foresight Quad how the feet can allow a golfer to control different distances the ball travels- rather than having to try swing harder or softer to fill those yardage gaps on the course.
Proper balance and proper ground forces does not ask for the left foot to jump upwards or backwards. This is a sign of a stalling body and is an attempt to try keep the body moving. There is a better way.
Getting the shoulders to turn correctly pays huge dividends for the direction the arms and club move and how the body works. Proper sequence is everything. Watch to learn the desired shoulder movement.
Taking the hands out of the pitching and chipping motion breeds consistency in the strike and trajectory of these shots. Here is a great image of what these short game shots should feel like.
